It’s been a long time since I’ve posted! I suppose there hasn’t been much for me to say. Or perhaps with such a hectic start to the semester, thinking or writing about my life is a luxury that can’t always be afforded :p
Perhaps the best way to bridge the gap between the end of Summer and the beginning of Fall in Minnesota is the Renaissance Festival! I haven’t been since I was young, but Mike and I made it out for the last weekend. He had never been!
I think it is my favorite festival type event because it has something for everyone. Dress up, talented artists and performers, fun activities, and food that is of higher quality than other fair food (in my opinion).
Mike and I ended up sharing a turkey leg, which was the best I’ve ever had. Smokey and charred and surprisingly flavorful! He tried the mead and I had an apple dumpling with cinnamon ice cream that was so good, I was shocked it was fair food!
In addition to good food, I learned some archery and we even had polka lessons in the Oktoberfest section!
All-in-all, a great way to spend a weekend. It was really fun to escape everyday life for a day and see all the mythical creatures 🙂 I definitely enjoyed bringing Mike there for the first time because I knew he would love it! Plus, any event that is an excuse to put on my dirndl is pretty fun 🙂
