Last night Mike and I went on a date in Uptown. We ate at Chino Latino and walked down by Lake Calhoun. It was so nice! And it had us reminiscing about when we were dating.
I should add that this wasn’t just a “night out”. He specifically asked me out on Monday, made reservations, and we both got ready as if we were dating.
Anyway, we both talked about how exciting the first dates were and how nervous we both felt. As nice as those feelings were, now they are replaced with a deep knowledge of one another and feeling comfortable together, which is just as special.
Being married shouldn’t mean the end of dating. It just means that you get to date the person you love for the rest of your life. No more trial-and-error, just nice dates with your best friend.
Anyway, that sounds so corny, but it’s true! This morning we got up and had regular breakfast together and it felt nice to have shared a proper date the night before.
